South Yorkshire & North East Derbyshire Ramblers

Welcome to the South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire (SYNED) Area Ramblers website

"We are dedicated to working both for better quality walking environments and to making walking more accessible to all."

Here you will find out about what's happening with the Ramblers in the South Yorkshire and North East Derbyshire area.

SYNED is just one of the Ramblers 57 Areas and is responsible for the ten local Groups within our region. The area offers a wide variety of walking opportunities, from the high moorland of the Dark Peak to the west, the lowland moors of Thorne and Hatfield to the east, the "Last of the Summer Wine" country in the north, to the Derbyshire Dales in the south.

In the area there is a long tradition of campaigning for footpaths, public access to mountain and moorland and on countryside issues.

It has a diverse and fascinating countryside offering many varied walking experiences, whether exploring the many sites of prehistoric interest or the extensive wildlife habitats.
